I write this from Traverse City, Michigan because we are, indeed, on the road again.  And our first stop is at one of our favorite venues, the Traverse City Horse Shows.  After this pop-up at the first US Major League Show Jumping tour stop, we’re home for a minute and then off to New York for the end of August.  We start with a private trunk show on Long Island, then do a weekend shop-in-shop at the Jenni Kayne Amagansett store, and finish with a week at The Hampton Classic where we partner once again with our good friends at Kaval.  We couldn’t be more excited to be at horse shows again meeting our clients in person.
Please stop by and see us!
August 4 — 6:  Traverse City Horse Shows/Major League Show Jumping

TCHS in Traverse City, MI is host to the first US tour stop of the 2022 Major League Show Jumping season.  While I’m a Cali girl at heart, TCHS is one of my favorite show venues, and it has become the place to be in the spring and summer.  The show grounds are spacious and beautiful, the show rings and warm up rings are spacious and have perfectly maintained footing, and the hospitality is world class.  Show management (Morrissey Management Group) believes in great hospitality, and no detail has been overlooked in ensuring that exhibitors and visitors enjoy their time at the show.  The VIP Club and the Grand Prix Bar overlook the Grand Prix and main hunter rings, the food and drink are great, and there is plenty of shopping to help you pass the time.
The MLSJ weeks at TCHS are a good time to visit — four days of world class competition, including the Friday night MLSJ team competition, which is a super fun addition to the world of showjumping.  Yesterday, we congratulated the winner of the $36,000 CALLIDAE CSI2* 1.45m Speed Stake, Conor Swail, who led from the beginning of the class.  This is our second year of being the MLSJ Official Apparel Sponsor.  Tune into the livestream Friday (08/05) at 5 p.m. Eastern to watch the top riders in the world in the team competition (in their CALLIDAE team uniforms).  You’ll enjoy it!

August 27 — 28:  Jenni Kayne Amagansett

At the end of the month, we head to the East Coast for almost two weeks, and we’re very much looking forward to our shop-in-shop at the Jenni Kayne store in Amagansett (10 Amagansett Square, Amagansett, NY 11930).  JK is a valued partner of ours — we’ve had shop-in-shops in JK Brentwood and with the JK Airstream and collaborated on the "Coachella Collection,”  which we launched in January 2021.  We’ll be at the Amagansett store from 10 am — 6 pm both days and will have a curated selection of our bestsellers and new products, including our new show coat, which is fabricated from a Loro Piana sport wool fabric.  You can get an advance look at the show coats if you watch the MLSJ athletes in the team competition.

On Saturday, August 27, from 2:30 pm — 5:30 pm, I’ll be joined by Team CALLIDAE sponsored rider, Erin Stewart.  Erin, who is based in Long Island, NY and Wellington, FL had a stellar junior career capped off by winning the 2002 Maclay Medal.  After an equally impressive amateur career — named Grand Champion and Leading Hunter Rider at 2009 Capital Challenge — Erin turned pro.  She has since become one of the elite trainers in the United States, coaching countless students to championships at all the major hunter and big eq competitions.  Erin will be in the store to talk about the sport and to answer any questions you might have about the equestrian world.

August 29 — September 4:  Hampton Classic Horse Show

The Classic's description of itself as “The perfect end to the perfect summer” is very apt.  For nearly 50 years, the Hampton Classic has been a premier destination for horse people and a much anticipated stop on the summer tour for competitors.  Held now in Bridgehampton, NY, the show draws top international show jumpers and national champion hunter competitors who compete for over $1 million in prize money.  Outside of the show rings, spectators enjoy 80 onsite shops, fun food and drink options, and Monday’s annual Animal Adoption Day, featuring rescued dogs, cats, and horses in search of a forever home.  The Classic draws equestrians and non-equestrians alike and has a festive, “last hurrah of summer” feeling that makes every day fun.
CALLIDAE is partnering once again with our friends at Kaval to be part of its pop-up shop at The Classic. We’re so excited to be part of their curation of brands in their beautifully designed shop in the Boutique Garden.  If you’re in the area, you owe yourself a visit to The Classic — it’s truly one of a kind.
